WHCC moved into our new facility in August of 2007. Our 47,000 square foot lab has three times the production space of the old lab and contains many features that make us more efficient and productive. The digital printing equipment and technology today is nothing like the old photo optical equipment it replaced. Equally important is the change in production management and flow of orders through the new digital systems.
Our facility is designed from the floor up to accommodate the infrastructure of the digital age. Over 20,000 square feet of raised computer access flooring gives us the flexibility of adapting very quickly as our business grows and changes. Production areas can be moved around and adapted to new equipment and new production flows easily. Electricity, Ethernet, waste drains, fresh water lines and compressed air are all located under the raised flooring allowing us to move computers, workstations and equipment as the need arises. With nothing hanging from the ceiling, we have an open, more employee friendly working environment.
The lab is designed with efficient production in mind. We produce your orders in a matter of hours, not days or weeks, as in the old optical lab model. Up front automation and custom programming allows us to bring orders over our fiber optic data lines, which have enough available bandwidth that you will never experience a slow down when sending orders. Our system requires little human interaction in the production of most orders until prints roll off one of our four different kinds of digital photographic printers.
This state of the art production facility is a fantastic asset for producing your orders, but it is only as good as the management staff and the crew that run the facility 24/7.
