MN (Eagan) - Seasonal Customer Service Representative

White House Custom Colour provides customers with the finest professional quality photographic products and excellent customer service. We are currently seeking motivated, organized, customer-focused team players to join our Customer Service Department. Our team is personable, fun and available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 7:00PM (on three shifts.)

We have the honor of working with the best photographers in the business. Whether our clients are just starting out or are well established, we believe in the vision they have for their success. It is our privilege to work alongside them, offering our personal best in service and care, so that they can “WOW” their clients.

We engage with our clients in a number of ways. You will work one-on-one with a wide range of photographers, helping them get the most out of White House Custom Colour. We solve problems, offer advice and make sure our clients have a product they love. You’ll get to chat on the phone, write helpful and witty emails, make connections through IM and even meet clients face to face a few times a year.

About you:

Even more about you:

  • A minimum of 2 years customer service experience
  • Strong background in photography and/or experience working in the photography industry
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in photography or related field strongly preferred
  • Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, intermediate level in Photoshop, and minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute

Design & Engineering

MN (Eagan) - Back End Engineer

Who We Are

White House Custom Colour (WHCC) is the leading provider of printed products to professional photographers in the US. Our engineering and development teams play an integral part in serving our clients on a day to day basis. They work on a wide variety of important projects; from developing internal tools that streamline our processes to building consumer-facing products and software.

Who You Are

You are passionate about solving problems. You think big picture and excel at making all the pieces fit together; from server infrastructure to adding new endpoints to a RESTful API. You strive to make an impact in a team setting and aren't afraid to express your opinions and ideas. 

What You Will Do

This is a back end engineer position responsible for developing and maintaining server-side components and infrastructure that supports web and mobile apps. You will be responsible for architecting, developing, and shipping code for new and existing products. You will be working with a group of like-minded people who share your passion for technology.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage server-side development for web and mobile projects including new features, product updates, and new product ideation/prototyping
  • Architect and develop APIs for both internal and external use
  • Work with established APIs to integrate into projects
  • Work closely with other engineers and management

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience with server-side/back-end development
  • Substantial experience working with Javascript (Node), Ruby, Python or similar languages
  • Expertise in designing, building, and deploying RESTful web services
  • Experience scaling applications — ideally running on AWS EC2/RDS/S3
  • Acute awareness of various technologies and the ability to assess which is appropriate on a project by project basis
  • Understanding of security best practices and commitment to keeping user data safe
  • Strong organization skills, including managing your own time and projects
  • Desire to be part of a team that works together to figure out a plan and execute it week after week

Our design and user experience team plays an integral role in serving our clients on a day to day basis. They work on a wide variety of important projects; from developing internal tools that make our processes more efficient to building customer facing products and software.

What You Will Do

This is a front end engineer position. You will be responsible for building and maintaining HTML/CSS/JS for user facing products. Some days you'll be starting with an empty directory, others you'll be making small improvements to help make our existing products and services even better. 

Responsibilities

  • Developing front end code focused on providing a world-class user experience
  • Writing well-structured HTML with cross-browser compatibility in mind
  • Writing modular CSS using modern techniques and progressive enhancement
  • Working closely with designers, other developers, and managers to determine product scope, interactions, and features
  • Integrating with server side code written by other developers
  • Recognizing differences between deployment targets and coding based on their capabilities (HTML emails vs. responsive HTML5)

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of web development experience 
  • Expert understanding of modern HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with Javascript libraries such as jQuery, YUI, backbone.js, D3 and the ability to assess when each is appropriate
  • Experience writing JavaScript that is object-oriented and extensible
  • Solid understanding of client-side performance trade-offs and browser capabilities
  • Strong organizational skills, including managing your own time and projects
  • Desire to be part of a team that works together to figure out a plan and execute it week after week
  • Comfortable with version control

What You Will Do

This is a Javascript Engineer position. You will be responsible for building and maintaining Javascript + HTML/CSS for user-facing products. We create a wide variety of physical products. You will help build the tools that enable people around the world to understand and order them.

Responsibilities

  • Develop front end code focused on providing a world-class user experience
  • Work closely with designers, other developers, and managers to determine product scope, interactions, and features
  • Integrate with front end + back end code written by other developers
  • Build modular code + frameworks with future use and maintainability in mind.

Production

MN (Eagan) - Seasonal Production Associate

Are you looking for a high-energy, positive work environment?  Do you prefer a job where you can move around & stay on your feet?  Would you be excited to be part of one of the fastest-growing professional digital photographic and press imaging companies in the USA?  If so, take a look at White House Custom Colour in Eagan.

We are currently seeking seasonal staff members who want to work 2nd shift, specifically from 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with required overtime on the back-end and on Sunday's.  These positions are open immediately, and these assignments will work through approximately December 22.  

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, print, proof, package, and/or ship our fine products to our clients, 
  • Complete work in a timely manner, and
  • Ensure that all work produced is of the highest quality.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Computer knowledge
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to move quickly and perform work while standing
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Must have an excellent attendance record
  • Some positions require lifting up to 50 pounds
